Welcome to Cheshire Without Abuse
At Cheshire Without Abuse we know that relationships are complicated and domestic abuse affects the whole family.
We have supported families affected by domestic abuse for 40 years and we specialise in supporting people through the challenges they face.
Our team are trained to recognise the signs and symptoms of domestic abuse, assess the needs of family members and respond to practical issues such as housing, legal aid and financial difficulties.
We offer a weekly drop in advice clinic, a monthly legal clinic and a range of groups offering recovery and support as well as a counselling service and specialist children’s programmes.
So How Does it Work?
We will listen to you on the phone and arrange a face to face interview to discuss your situation in more detail. We will work with you to identify any difficulties you are experiencing. We will carry out an assessment which will help us to understand the risks you are facing. Based on this, we will develop an individualised plan tailored to your situation.
One to One Support
We also offer a one to one support service which provides aftercare to families who are re-housed within the local area, along with existing families that are referred to us by other agencies. We provide practical and emotional support enabling families to maintain their tenancies and lead an independent life.
How Long Will I receive Support For?
CWA offers short, medium and long term support. This can be in a crisis or even many years after.
We realise that although people's experiences may be similar, their road to recovery can be very different. From the outset our goal is to make you feel safe. We will then work closely with you, assisting you with things like benefit and housing applications until you feel empowered enough to live independently and reach your full potential.
At the centre of what we do is rebuilding your self esteem so you can reach your full potential and we will support you with that every step of the way.
Our Support Centre
The Lily Jones Support Centre allows the team to organise support group meetings, recovery programs, counselling, Children's activities and young people's programmes as well as networking drop-in sessions and other training activities.
